Meet The Dickens Carolers
The Dickens Carolers are a cherished Portland tradition, bringing joy and harmony to the holiday season with every note. Each quartet features four talented singers—two men and two women—elegantly dressed in authentic Old English attire inspired by the year 1843, when Charles Dickens published A Christmas Carol.
Our costumes set the festive stage: the women wear rich, flowing gowns in red velvet and deep green, while the men don classic tailcoats, top hats, and coordinating vests and ties. The look is timeless, the experience unforgettable.
In true Victorian tradition, all of our music is performed a cappella in lush, four-part harmony. Our two-hour repertoire includes beloved classics—both traditional and modern—such as:

A Pacific Northwest Holiday Tradition
Founded in Seattle in 1978 and established in Portland since 1985, The Dickens Carolers have delighted audiences across the metro area for decades. We've been featured on KOIN's Sunshine Food Drive, KATU's AM Northwest, in television and radio spots, and in numerous articles and photos throughout local media.
Today, we perform exclusively during the holiday season—from late November through December 23. With multiple quartets performing simultaneously, we’re able to deliver over 200 hours of live music each year, spreading cheer across:
